Scrapbooking Ideas

Looking for new and exciting scrapbooking ideas? Then look no further than your local library. Libraries are a rich, wonderful resource for the avid scrapbooking enthusiast. Most libraries have several volumes on the joys of scrapbooking. Many of these gems include ideas for new scrapbooking methods, materials, and subjects for your scrapbook. Whether you scrapbook to commemorate events, live vicariously through others, or keep a record of the trials andscrapbooking ideas tribulations of your favorite sports team, the library is the place to go for scrapbooking ideas. Some new ideas I have come across recently include using swatches of clothing I wore on the day I am remembering on my scrapbooking page so that I can relive the day through tactile, not just ocular experience.

Join A Scrapbooking Club - It's a Great Way to Make Connections and Learn About New and Exciting Scrapbooking Supplies

From time to time, we all come across various scrapbooking items and materials but we never hear about scrapbooking clubs. If you love to scrapbook, you can create a higher level of fun in your life by joining or creating a scrapbooking club. It is a fun way to get together and find persons who share your interests. Every member of a scrapbooking club brings their own idiosyncracies to the group, which makes it a great way to learn new skills. At a scrapbooking club gathering, members can share or barter various scrapbooking supplies with like-minded people. This is a fantastic way to 'test scrap' new scrapbooking products before you take the plunge and purchase them.

A normal scrapbooking club meets one night a month to share new and wacky scrapbooking ideas. They may even bring new household items that can be used as scrapbooking supplies! If, unfortunately, there is no scrapbooking group in your area you can create your own. A great place to start is at your local library or retirement home. I would suggest making fliers or pamphlets. You could also post on a bulletin board either online or in person. Schedule an orientation meeting for your newly formed scrapbooking club. This will allow you to find out the easiest days and times for you and your fellow scrapbookers to meet.

There is no better way to get pumped to be back in the craft room than to receive all the scrapbooking supplies you need to finish several way-cool layouts! You can ensure that you scrapbook every week because you'll have new friends to show off your neat scrapbook to! I have never spent a smaller amount of money per month on scrapbooking than I have since I joined the local scrapbooking club. You can keep membership costs low by sniffing out a location for your scrapbooking club to meet without paying a fee, similar to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Churches, libraries, and senior centers are great places for this.

Start looking for a scrapbooking club today. It is the best thing I have ever done in my life. Be sure to get in one soon, joining a scrapbooking club is the best way to maintain a vigorous scrapbooking hobby! If you want to make sure that your scrapbooking club flourishes, make sure that people feel welcome. Make sure the door is open for new people to join. The group needs to be friendly and open-minded about new scrapbookers. Schedule super special events, like having special guest scrapbookers from other clubs come and speak at your meetings to talk about fresh ideas for the craft of scrapbooking. This will keep members of your local scrapbooking club excited and anticipating what wild stuff might happen at the next meeting. All over the world, scrapbooking hobbyists come together and scrapbook at each other's homes, at large scrapbooking conventions, community centers, on scrapbooking cruises and at scrapbooking supply stores.

Heritage Scrapbooking Preserves Tradition

Historically, scrapbooking developed in the tradition much like to storytelling, but with an immediate, yet wistful and visual focus. Heritage scrapbooking helps promote a legacy of written & oral history in the form of decorated scrapbook albums. Heritage scrapbooking has been around over a hundred years. Ordinary scrapbooks tend to have photographs mounted with photo mount corners and notations with who was in the photograph and when and where the photograph was taken. In heritage scrapbooking, the photographs included bits of memorabilia like letters and newspaper clippings.
